Castle Building Game For PC 2024 News

Hi Good Souls,
Yes its been a fair few months since any news about this castle building rts game project but if you want to be kept up to date then the discord is the best place to get it.

During the summer months im often away from programming and its only really during the winter I get chance to sit down and do any programming,  so dont panic things will take off again very soon.  The game is pencilled in and is a fairly fleshed out prototype which is great to see after all those months of development. What I will be doing over the coming months will all be explained in a new Dev video which will be with you all in a week or two. But to give you some news carry on reading.

Engine
The game is working, compiling and available for download in the very latest Unreal Engine 5.4.
This obviously gives me some fairly advanced features but please remember Im one man and it all takes time not only to learn but also to impliment, game test, refine and then repeat.  But im very happy with how the game is coming together and it will certainly only get better.
Graphics are what they are but can obviously be greatly improved should I get time and want to do more graphicaly with it. With it in UE5 I dont have any real issues with that so its kind of on the back burner, just be aware I can do a great deal with it.

With regards to the actual gameplay I left the game with some fairly basic AI for the enemy factions and yourself. Ai as you can imagine is a very complicated area and this is only going to get more complicated over this winter as I dramaticaly increase their number, that will however mean I need to invest in some off the shelf AI crowd scripts. Coming in at over £250 it would be nice to receive something towards it if you are feeling generous. Links will be made available in the next download to do that. Far larger battles are the aim while keeping the relationship of each character you have. I dont just want it to become a meaningless blood bath and instead want to ensure you actually care about each of your towns folk and knights. That obviously becomes harder as more and more knights get added in.



Yeah, so Im looking foward to taking this to the next level over the coming months and if you are not already on discord then I hope to see you there for your feedback and ideas. Im just one guy so obviously miss bugs, some cool ideas etc so the community is a very important part of the project. I will post again when Ive done the video which will go over where its all at and my plans for it.
